The HTC One X is probably the best Droid phone released by HTC in 2012. We have seen many of them and people love them. If you have cracked the screen or damaged the LCD, please note that you will need to buy the scree display assembly (both the LCD and glass digitizer pre-assembled).
Start by taking off the back cover by running a safety pry tool around the outside of the screen. Once you separate the screen, pull it away and the screen easily will pop out.
Now remove 5 phillips screws the secure the plastic shield on top of the motherboard. Disconnect the connectors for touch panel and antenna. This is much like past HTC phones, if you are familiar. Lift up the side latch and pull ribbon out. Be careful not to damage latch.
Now remove motherboard from front assembly. Be careful with buttons and any ribbons you may have forgot about.
Lift the battery out and undo ribbon for LCD. Pull out motherboard and remove last ribbon. Don’t rip it!
Removing one last phillips screw allows you to remove antenna board assembly completely.
Now you can remove the vibrator assembly. Peel off the ribbon carefully.
With a heat gun, heat the back of the assembly. After well heated, you can remove the screen assembly from the metal. The is where the new assembly will go.
Overall this repair reminds me of the Thunderbolt and other HTC smartphones. Buying the screen digitizer and lcd preassembled is highly recommended so your repair will look as it should: brand new!
