Our Motorola Xoom screen repair was $220 but has now been reduced to $200.00. We love these repairs and here is why:

The Motorola Xoom digitizer was out-of-stock for a long time, but since it’s been available it’s been great to fix. We have seen several come in the last couple months and at first it may seem daunting but after navigating it, it actually gets very easy.

Taking off the back cover by releasing clips is perhaps the most stressed you will get and once you do it a couple times it’s no problem. With a shattered screen, the very end when you have to remove the glass from plastic frame you may have to do alot of scraping. If it is just cracked that part may be easy as well. Then it is just placing new adhesive and putting back together. The end result is a Motorola Xoom screen that looks as good as new.

The Samsung tablets are also pretty easy. The iPad 2 is among the trickiest for beginners because the glass sits on top of adhesive, which needs to be applied very well for it to stick correctly.

So in a way the Motorola Xoom screen repair compares well to the iPhone 4 repair (lots of screws, not much adhesive—and end result truly as good as new).

The day of the release we put our iPhone 4S repair skills to the test. Obviously the iPhone can be fixed if it has experienced a simple crack of the screen or water damage while turned off but we really tried to overcome the odds…with Papa Repair Launch casting it far out into the Atlantic Ocean.

Now, we were able to retrieve the data from the phone and get it to power on but no dice on the LCD functioning properly. This fact kind of sucks but we can’t say any lessons were learned, as we’ve begun discussing even dumber ways to celebrate the release of the next hyped Apple iPhone or other electronics gadget.

Like we say in the video, if your iPhone gets wet power it off immediately. Remove the battery if you can. Don’t turn it back on. Then send it to us. iPhone 4s Shattered back glass and cracked digitzer screen (Toss and Destroy)

Here is the iPhone 4s Toss and Destroy video we have posted. As we assumed, it is a very similar exterior to the iPhone 4, so it broke in much the same way. The glass on the front and back of the phone is a deadly combination. More complete details and a more complete video should be ready by next Monday. Until then enjoy!

iPhone 4s used as Bait in Atlantic Ocean (water damage RepairLaunch)

For better or worse, we took the new iPhone 4s for a swim in the Atlantic Ocean. Thanks to some ingenuity by and old cranky Florida fisherman, we were able to cast it an reel back. We did not catch anything but this is the first part in a series where we destroy the iPhone and discuss what you can do to save it. The key is powering your phone off right away, if possible. Then if you can disassemble without breaking, do that. Finally rinsing parts with distilled water and 99% isopropyl alcohol helps too, especially if you get saltwater on your phone. But the best advice is to send to us so we can give it the ultrasonic water damage repair service and the best odds of saving your iPhone from water damage.

Soon to be uploaded is our disassembly and screen repair demonstration. Just to let you all know, the screen still shatters just like the iPhone 4. Good news for us though is the digitizer is the same for all models of the iPhone 4s.

With the formal introduction of the new iPhone 4s by Apple RepairLaunch can officially discuss our iPhone 4s repair services. For the Similar to design as the iPhone 4, this iPhone is a little bit refined and juiced up with nice upgrades, including an iPad 2 processor. We admit to being a little disappointed that there is not a bigger change in design, but this will be a great phone anyways.

Lots of new features to talk about, as Sprint officially joins the iPhone world. The iPhone 4s comes in 3 prices with 16gb, 32gb and 64gb. Speech recognition, improved camera and iCloud round out some of the more popular features. This phones is not as big of a jump that the original iPhone 4 was over the 3G series but it is much better and without some of the kinks….presumably.
